Splitting clips and the blade

Split at the playhead

Move the playhead to where you want the cut and press CmdCtrl+B. The selected clip splits in two. If nothing is selected, every clip under the playhead splits.

The blade

Press B to pick the blade tool. Click on a clip to cut it at that point. Press A to go back to the select tool.

Deleting what you do not need

• Press Delete to remove the selected clip and leave a gap on connected tracks.
• Press Shift+Delete to ripple delete, which removes the clip and closes the gap.

Undo

CmdCtrl+Z undoes. Shift+CmdCtrl+Z redoes. History goes back a long way, so you can try things freely.
